2017 RAM Truck Backup Camera Issue and Fix
My 2017 Ram truck started having issues with the backup camera. Sometimes when putting it in reverse it would show a green screen but most of the time it would be a distorted image like you see in the video. Luckily the fix for me was pretty simple.

Cleaning White Rubber Shoe Soles
Переглядів 3,7 тис.Рік тому
I have found a quick and easy trick that I use to clean up my white rubber soled shoes. The shoes that have this sort of sole are often found on converse, vans, kswiss and other brands of slip-on and skater sneakers. Water doesn't seem to get a lot of the dirt off but lighter fluid usually does the trick.
2020 Mazda A/C Temp Problem
Переглядів 652 роки тому
Hi All, I have a problem with our (newish) Mazda that I bought recently. Is is as if the car is possessed and prefers to ramp up the A/C temp all the way to the hottest setting on it's own. If anyone has an idea of what may be wrong, I'd appreciate your ideas and feedback in the comments. Seems to only affect the left hand / driver's side when sync is turned off. Check out the video of it going...
Super Simple Oven Fix for My Mom's Drop-in Stove
Переглядів 8622 роки тому
My mom has a drop-in style stove. It's just like a regular oven/stove, but it doesn't reach the floor and the controls are up front instead of the back. The oven part stopped working, but the burners on top were still functioning. She told me she heard a loud pop when it broke. I checked the burners first and they were ok and ordered a replacement control board. I was shocked how easy it was to...

Fixing Yellowed Plastic Appliance Parts

My fridge drip tray was looking pretty yellowed. We have had this fridge for over 15 years now, but it keeps working, so no need to replace it. Anyway, the drip tray looked so bad, I thought I would try bleaching it. I saw online where someone used some hair developing creme to whiten something similar. I was pretty skeptical, but wanted to give it a try. The creme cost me around 5 bucks on Wal...
DIY Canoe Rack Cross Rails for Honda Odyssey

The rails on the top of my 2008 Honda Odyssey didn't have cross-rails to mount the canoe to, so in this video I made my own. For some reason I didn't think the canoe would be that wide, but as luck would have it, when I was finished the canoe sat on the rails perfectly with about an 1/8" inch to spare. Initially, I did look at just buying some pre-fab strong cross rails, but all the online opti...
Replacing Travel Trailer RV Storage Hatch Screw Cover Trim

The trim that covers the screws for the storage hatch on our Keystone Travel Trailer / Camper kept coming out of the track even though I kept tucking it back in over and over again. After a lot of searching I realized the trim was not preformed in a rectangle but just straight trim that came in a spool and was stretched around the corners.
Replacing Grizzly G1023 3 HP 220VAC Motor Bearings

The motor bearings in this tablesaw I just got are pretty bad. It is a 1996 Grizzly 3HP cabinet table saw. Arbor ones are still ok so I am leaving them along. Investigating My Water Meter Leak

Noticed water was coming out of where my water meter cover is in the yard. I was concerned that I may have to spend a lot of money getting it repaired based on some of the horror stories I heard about people's water leaks in the supply line to the house. I tried a few methods to suck out the water and the first two did not work so well but did have better luck using a shop vac.

      For the one left on the shaft at around 10 minute mark, I used the wheel puller. Sorry I must have missed recording the other one, but if I recall correctly I ended up popping it out with an automotive socket that just caught the lip of the inner race and the plastic deadblow hammer. Watching this old video made me think I should get a small shop press though.. ;)

      Heh heh, ironically that table top is a formica type laminate and has stood up to all manner of abuse over the years we have been married. In fact my wife does crafts on it regularly and she gets various glues and other sticky substances and so on it. One neat trick I found is that coleman camping fuel (essentially naptha) takes up almost anything and leaves it looking like new.

    I used to do this with old Super Nintendos. Only problem is it's hard to get the sun's rays to cover every angle of the plastic equally, so you can get streaks. I seen people use tubs lined with tin foil, and a lid with a black light attached. It helps to saturate every angle of the plastic in UV light, but then you're stuck with a sketchy looking tub. Probably not worth it just to de-yellow one piece of plastic.

    I've studied the circuit used for the Anniversary version self-propelled and found the design to have only marginal noise performance. The sensor wire is run next to the 120V RMS power wire pair as can be seen in the video which is also connected to an inherently noisy brush-type universal motor. There is no line filtering on the LED & sensor processing board on the front of the unit, probably in order to keep costs down. It doesn't make sense that cleaning the sensor should solve the problem, it should make it worse being more sensitive. I suspect the mixed results people are getting are due to them reassembling the back with the wires slightly further away from the line (white & yellow) wires for the successful fix😂. I'm going to try some easy fixes of my own & if successful, will re-post here.

    • @1.5Deg_Is_NonNegotiable
      @1.5Deg_Is_NonNegotiable 8 місяців тому

      I have resolved my issue & I hope this can help others who may be still struggling to fix theirs. The 1st. thing I noticed was that during assembly, the screws holding down the back rear cover and tool rack (see above video) were cranked down so hard that they crushed the microphone assembly gasket and the gasket covering hole at the bottom where the microphone & headlamp wires came out, permanently deforming them. The hole at the bottom of the rear cover was the worse problem as a great deal of exhaust air was flowing through the back, around the microphone assembly and up through the handle. This created a great deal of induced noise into the microphone. I picked up some window/door gasket at home depot to cover the hole with additional 10" to run up over the wires. The gasket wasn't a perfect fit but it covered that silly hole at the bottom and solved the problem, even with the sensitivity switch on "HI". I noticed that Hoover made a change after my model version to the back with the hole in it (search Hoover_6485900.pdf) and I have to wonder if they found a way to patch that hole. Also, I suggest not cranking down so hard on the screws, these are plastic parts & can easily crack and/or deform gaskets, only tighten until snug. Sorry so wordy here but I hope this helps.

    What were your exact symptoms? I also have the Carrier Crusader. When I turn the thermostat on, I hear a fan come on and then the I think I see the ignitors turn orange and hear a louder fan. The ignitors go off and come back on and then eventually, it goes off again and stays off. No "click" and no ignition of gas. Thanks.

    • @stoppedsnoring
      @stoppedsnoring 9 місяців тому

      If I recall correctly, my igniters weren't coming on, so it sounds like yours is a bit different. I wonder if maybe your gas valve isn't letting the gas move or the thermocouple for it maybe at fault? Good luck on figuring it out!

    • @rgraz4929
      @rgraz4929 9 місяців тому

      @@stoppedsnoring Thanks. You got it right. After more reading, it's either the board or the gas valve. If there's 24 volts? AC going to the gas valve (while the ignitors are glowing) , then the circuit board is good and gas valve is bad.
